The Original Caesar Salad
This recipe is for one of the most popular salads world wide - the Caesar Salad. It was invented in 1924 by an Italian-born Mexican, Caesar Cardini. He was living in San Diego
and Tijuana at the time.
One night, he ran out of ingredients and invented this salad with what he had around.
Ingredients:
Put all ingredients except the parmesan, lettuce and olive oil in a blender and process for 30 seconds. With the blender running slowly, pour the olive oil in...very slowly....for the dressing to emusify. That's it! Put the dressing in the fridge until you need it. Toss with romaine and add the cheese. Presto! Easy and fast without any of the chemicals in the store bought versions. Bon Apetito! Richard p.s. The original Caesar Salad did not contain anchovies! |
